New 'mini-album'
I've just had a hundred copies of a seven song CD pressed (unimaginatively) called "Seven"
The collection includes two tracks recorded with the lads from Buchanan, two tracks recorded with Martin and Paul from the Rhythmaires and three songs recorded live, solo at the Half Moon in Bishops Stortford, Herts last year (when our flight from Stansted to Oslo was delayed for a day)I can supply individual copies via mail-order, please e-mail me for details.
Well, as mentioned in the home page, I'm still working towards my debut album. The working title is 'Fragile Heaven.' Seems to be taking forever! Not aided by various other factors over the last couple of years such as domestic break-up, loss of day job, having to move house four times in 18 months etc (all very inspirational!).
I'm not currently doing a lot of gigging and am doing my best to settle into my new day-job as a housing support worker. It seems there's a lot to learn but the colleagues I'm with seem a great bunch and I'm looking forward to getting 'stuck in' to the job.
February 2007. Some great news. My good mates Buchanan just picked up the award for 'Best album' from the British Country Music Association.
March 4th. Just finished playing some session harmonica and adding a few backing vocals for Rick Broussard who's decided to record half his new album in Austin and half in Manchester, experimenting with an eclectic mix of Texan and 'British' influences and players. It's sounding good so far and I'm looking forward to hearing the finished product.
I'll be tour manager (and occasional support act) to my friend Kim Carson (see links) who's returning to the UK in March for a few dates.
In July I'm fortunate to have been given a slot on the singer-songwriters' showcase at the annual Americana festival near Newark, Notts. I'll be playing on stage one early on the afternoon of Friday July 6th.
Then it's off to (it's becoming something of an annual habit) Norway again to play at the Seljord Festival. (26th - 29th July).
